Our first visit but not our last. Lovely evening.Mr and Mrs Pearce
For the past several years Bidford On Avon Darby and Joan Club have visited Weston Super Mare twice a year . A group of us have always lunched at the Old Thatched Cottage, which is our favourite eating place because the food and service are excellent, Our last visit was on the 20th September and as am retiring from the organising committee I would like to express my thanks, and that of my friends, to Steve who has always looked after us so well, and all the staff who on our previous visit were very courteous, helpful and friendly.
With many thanks from our group

My husband and I only stayed in Weston Super Mare for 1 night, but thank God we found your restaurant. I cannot express my gratitude enough. It was my husband’s 50th birthday and we were looking for somewhere special to celebrate, we couldn’t have found anywhere better. Unfortunately we hadn’t booked a table, but luckily you managed to squeeze us in even though you were extremely busy. We had to wait in the bar for our table but were constantly kept up to date on how long we would have to wait. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more efficient. It was well worth the wait as the food was wonderful. In my husband’s own words “It was the best meal he’s ever had”. We were even taken through to the kitchen after our meal so that we could thank the chef personally.
Thanks for making his birthday so special. We will definitely come to you again when we come for another holiday.Tina & Ian
English food so beautifully cooked lifts it to a different level. Very helpful and friendly staff.
What a great place to celebrate a 70th birthday with the family – Many thanks!Paul Tench
Fantastic meal & service, will come again when in Weston-super-MareJulie & George Brodie
Good day, I’m contacting you to share my views and thoughts after visiting you last night.
When we first walked in we were told you fully booked but to are luck the gentlemen we seen very kindly squeezed us in and I must say I’m absolutely delighted he did. The waiter was a pleasure to be served by and seemed to know the menu/meals inside out which filled us with confidence with are choices. The best bit was still to come for us as the food was absolutely exceptional and can only wish there was bread and butter to mop up the sauce from the prawn an mushroom starter as it was one of the tastiest starters I can remember. My partner went for the whitebait starter and was equally happy.
The standard of service and food was 10/10 and we are already planning to bring friends with us next time.
As I said thanks for some fantastic food and service and look forward to seeing you soon.Wayne Donnelly
I just wanted to write and express my appreciation for your hospitality last night. The meal was superb, made even more enjoyable by the friendly and efficient service. This was particularly impressive last night, given the number of diners, 75 in total and the lateness of the hour.
Please pass on my thanks to all those involved.Dr Paul Phillips OBE
Me and my wife have been coming here for many years. One of the truly great restaurants and we shall be having our 30th anniversary here, thats for sure.Mr Davies
As always we come to you to eat and drink. Lunch, afternoon and supper, we had it all. So we thought we’d write a little thankyou to all at the Thatch.
